(CercleFinance.com) - BASF broke ground today on a production complex at its Verbund site in Zhanjiang, China, which includes plants for glacial acrylic acid (GAA), butyl acrylate (BA) and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA).
Scheduled to be operational by 2025, the complex will have an annual production capacity of approximately 400,000 metric tonnes of BA and 100,000 metric tonnes of 2-EHA.
These world-class facilities will help meet the growing market demand for acrylics in China and Asia, BASF said.
