BASF: developing solutions for carbon capture

(CercleFinance.com) - BASF and GS Engineering and Construction (GS E&C) today signed an MoU for a partnership to jointly develop modular solutions for carbon capture plants.

The partners want to develop individual total solutions from standardised components for customers in all industries to remove CO2 from exhaust gases and treat it for further use or storage.

BASF's OASE blue process technology will contribute to both the sustainability and cost reduction of CO2 capture from flue gas, while GS E&C will support carbon neutrality for CO2 emitters.

BASF say that their joint efforts are being made to accelerate the reduction of global CO2 emissions, while GS E&C adds that this alliance will enable them to become a global leader in carbon capture solutions.

With environmental issues on the tip of everyone's tongue at present, BASF shares are currently up about 1% - respectable performance in a German market that is down about 1.5%.
