Lufthansa: to halve flight schedule
(CercleFinance.com) - Lufthansa announced this weekend that it plans to halve the frequency of its flights in the face of falling bookings and many travel cancellations due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The German airline explains that it is even considering temporarily suspending flights of its 14 A380 wide-body aircraft from Frankfurt and Munich.
These measures are intended to limit the financial consequences resulting from the collapse in demand, the group said in a statement.
The group stresses that it is not yet possible for it to exactly quantify the impact of the situation, but that it will announce the first financial details at a press conference scheduled for 19 March.
