Lufthansa: CEO's contract extended until 2023
(CercleFinance.com) - Lufthansa's CEO Carsten Spohr will continue at the helm of the German airline group for another five years, after the supervisory board extended his contract.
The decision by the carrier's board will extend the 51-year old's contract until 2023, the company said on Wednesday.
Carsten Spohr, who holds a captain's license for the Airbus A320 family aircraft type, has been a member of the executive board since 2011, and has been the company's CEO since 2014.
He has consistently helped to modernise Lufthansa over past years, the company said in a statement.
