Lufthansa: solves dispute with its pilots.
(CercleFinance.com) - It's finally the end of a confrontation that has lasted over several years and has resulted in strikes at regular intervals.
Lufthansa's management yesterday reached an agreement with its pilots about a new collective agreement.
This should lead to a 15% reduction in staff costs. It also includes an increase in the average retirement age for pilots and more flexible working schedules.
In return, at least 325 aircraft (Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo and Germanwings) will be operated under labour contracts in accordance with the terms of the new collective agreement, which will enable the carrier to recruit newly trained pilots.
