Lufthansa: will buy part of Air Berlin.
(CercleFinance.com) - Unsurprisingly, Lufthansa will take over a part of Air Berlin, which this summer was abandoned by its main shareholder Etihad, it was learned on Monday.
Hence, the supervisory board decided, which will also continue negotiations with its compatriot, but also EasyJet, until 12 October.
Air Berlin has also said it will be able to save 80% of its 8,500 jobs.
The company also quashed this rumour - which was tenacious - of interference from the political sphere in its choice, while Ryanair recently threw in the towel, mentioning a "German coup" to favour Lufthansa.
