Lufthansa: soon to extend its fleet.
(CercleFinance.com) - Several media sources have mentioned Lufthansa's interest in part of Air Berlin's fleet, which in the summer was dropped by Etihad, its main shareholder.
While insolvency proceedings are underway, Lufthansa boss Carsten Spohr gave additional details at a press evening yesterday.
In addition to the 38 aircraft currently leased to Air Berlin, Lufthansa aims to expand by 20 to 40 aircraft through the scheduled disappearance of its competitor.
