Volkswagen: partners M&M in electric mobility
(CercleFinance.com) - Volkswagen has announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
(M&M) for the use of MEB electric components (Volkswagen's modular electric platform).
Mahindra wants to equip its Born Electric Platform with MEB electric components, such as electric motors, battery system components and battery cells. The partnership agreement aims to assess the scope of the collaboration.
A binding supply agreement will be negotiated in a continuous, constructive and legally compliant manner before being concluded by the end of 2022, Volkswagen said.
Designed as an open vehicle platform, the MEB electric platform and its components enable carmakers to build their portfolio of electrified vehicles both quickly and cost-effectively.
