Volkswagen: towards smart factories thanks to 5G
(CercleFinance.com) - Volkswagen announces that it has taken a further step towards fully interconnected factories, with the establishment of an autonomous 5G local network at its Wolfsburg factory in Germany.
This pilot scheme will test whether 5G technology meets the high demands of vehicle production, with a view to developing it for industrial mass production in the future.
The Dresden plant has also commissioned a "5G island", it says.
