Volkswagen: MEB system wins Porsche Prize
(CercleFinance.com) - Volkswagen has announced that it has been awarded the 22nd Porsche Prize by the Vienna University of Technology for the development of its modular electric drive matrix (MEB).
Thanks to this flexible platform, which focuses on electric propulsion and can be integrated into a wide range of vehicles, the carmaker has been able to achieve huge economies of scale, as well as reduce the cost of the ecological transition and accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility.
Since 1977, the internationally renowned Porsche Prize has been awarded for pioneering R&D work in automotive engineering. It has been awarded every two years since 1981.
