Volkswagen: vehicle deliveries up 6.8% in August
(CercleFinance.com) - The Volkswagen group announced on Friday afternoon that it delivered 875,300 vehicles to its customers worldwide in August, representing a 6.
8% year-on-year increase.
In detail, Europe saw the sharpest increase in deliveries, with the group delivering 327,700 vehicles (+21%). VW performed particularly well in Spain (+54.2%), France (+39.1%) and the UK (+32.2%). Country by country, Germany - its historical market where the group is incorporated - saw the highest number of deliveries, with 104,000 vehicles (+15.3%).
Over the first 8 months of the year, Volkswagen also said that a total of 7,302,500 vehicles have been delivered. In the same period in 2017, deliveries reached 6,796,100 vehicles, up 7.5%.
