Volkswagen: Oddo's analysis after Ford alliance
(CercleFinance.com) - Herbert Diess, CEO of Volkswagen and Jim Hackett, CEO of Ford, presented the main aspects of the development of their global alliance (with no capital exchange).
The analysts' firm confirms its 'buy' rating for the share with an unchanged target price of 184 euros.
Oddo reports that the two groups have expanded the scope of their cooperation to electric and autonomous vehicles. VW will invest in Argo AI, of which Ford is the major shareholder. The German group will invest 2.6 Md$ in Argo.
By deepening their global partnership, they aim to reduce development and production costs. The savings anticipated have not been communicated but they will be substantial (up to 4 figures?) from 2023, Oddo underlines.
