Volkswagen: global alliance with Ford is taking shape
(CercleFinance.com) - German auto giant Volkswagen and US carmaker Ford confirmed that they will develop commercial vans and medium-sized pickups that are expected be marketed as early as 2022.
Volkswagen and Ford also have signed a memorandum of understanding to investigate collaboration on autonomous vehicles, mobility services and electric vehicles.
The companies believe that their cooperation will improve operating results as from 2023.
Yet, the alliance does not involve any cross-shareholdings between the companies.
Both companies seem to be willing to consider additional vehicle programs in the future, and have started to explore opportunities.
