Siemens: delivers second metro line to Rennes
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens has announced that it has delivered the turnkey "B" line of its Cityval metro system to the city of Rennes.
The line, which runs south-west through the Rennes conurbation, has some 15 stations stretching over 13 km or so.
Siemens Mobility provided the entire system engineering, delivered and implemented the Cityval rolling stock (25 trains, initially consisting of two cars), the automated train control system, the track system, the electrification, the platform doors, the operation control centre (OCC), the garage workshop facilities, as well as the radio communication and real-time video transmission in the stations and on the trains.
The metropolis already contracted Siemens 20 years ago when it was necessary to equip the city with its first metro line.
