Siemens: to equip Alexandria in Egypt
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens has been awarded a contract to upgrade the distribution management system and implement an advanced metering infrastructure for Alexandria Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).
As a subsidiary of the state-owned Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC), AEDC is responsible for the distribution network in the governorate of Alexandria, the second most populous governorate in Egypt.
Over the next 30 months, Siemens will implement a control centre for the Western Alexandria region and a control centre to oversee all distribution control centres in Alexandria.
In addition, 300,000 smart meters will be supplied, including the hardware and software needed to establish an advanced metering infrastructure and increase the operational efficiency of the network.
