Siemens: battery-powered train contract in Denmark
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Mobility has announced that it has been awarded a contract to supply seven battery-powered Mireo Plus B trains to the Danish railway company Midtjyske Jernbaner.
Siemens says that this is the first contract for a battery-powered train in Denmark and that the pilot project aims to eventually replace all diesel trains throughout the country.
The seven two-car electric trains will be delivered by the end of 2024 and are expected to operate on two lines in the Midtjylland region of Denmark.
