Siemens: power system for Energie Steiermark
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens announces that it has supplied durable medium-voltage switchgear for the Energie Steiermark Group's power substation in Münichtal, Austria.
After a test period, the power distribution system has now been officially handed over to the customer. This is the first installation of fluorine-free switchgear from Siemens' blue (climate-friendly) portfolio at a customer's in Austria.
The main task of this gas-insulated medium-voltage switchgear (GIS) is to distribute electricity economically and safely without the use of SF6, a gaseous agent that is traditionally used and is extremely polluting.
