Siemens: smart infrastructure unit moves to Amazon cloud
(CercleFinance.com) - Amazon on Thursday said that its cloud service has won a deal with Siemens, in which the energy distribution and intelligent buildings unit of the German conglomerate will transfer its ERP and supply chain computing work to AWS.
With this step, Siemens Smart Infrastructure will migrate enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) systems, based on SAP, to AWS by the end of 2021, the Seattle tech giant said.
Siemens Smart Infrastructure and AWS started their collaboration five years ago, when Siemens began moving core parts of its digital building technology to the cloud.
