Siemens: hits internal goal for carbon reduction
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens said that it has achieved its internal intermediate carbon-emission target by cutting the CO2 footprint of its own value chain by 54% since 2014.
In a statement, the German industrial group pointed out that it has thus exceeded - by 4 percentage points - its goal of halving its global carbon dioxide emissions by 2020.
The Munich conglomerate said that it is cutting emissions by expanding its energy efficiency program, using distributed energy systems, purchasing green power, and reducing emissions in its vehicle fleet.
Siemens intends to achieve climate neutrality in its business operations by 2030.
