Siemens: partners SAP in industrial software
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens and SAP announced on Tuesday that they have formed a partnership to enhance their software portfolios in product lifecycle management (PLM), logistics and asset management.
The first step in the agreement is for SAP to distribute Siemens Teamcenter, the German industrial group's PLM software, while in return Siemens will market SAP Intelligent Asset Management, SAP's asset management suite.
It is also planned that Siemens will offer its customers project and property management solutions developed by SAP.
However, SAP and Siemens also say they are considering joint offerings that combine their respective technologies.
In particular, both groups plan to couple Siemens Teamcenter with the ERP software SAP S/4HANA in order to offer customers a software suite covering the entire product life chain.
