Siemens: signs strategic partnership with China's SPIC
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens has said that it has signed a strategic partnership with China's State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC), further expanding their cooperation in power generation.
The companies said they pan to collaborate in high-technology product demonstration, in the field of digitalization of power plants and in smart energy management.
Siemens has also announced an agreement on heavy-duty gas turbines with China United Heavy-duty Gas Turbine Company (UGTC), in which SPIC has a majority stake.
The moves come as electricity demand is continuing to grow in China, with the government determined to improve air quality by switching from coal to natural gas.
