Siemens: requests authorisation from Commission
(CercleFinance.com) - The planned merger between Siemens Mobility and Alstom is on track.
Both groups announce that they have jointly filed the application for the merger's authorisation as part of the merger control procedure for sector concentration with the European Commission.
Due to extensive pre-notification preparatory work and the effort required to collect data in several countries, a delay of a few months resulting in an expected closing date in the first half of the calendar year 2019 cannot be excluded, the group said.
The deal is subject to approval from Alstom's shareholders at the company's general shareholder meeting which is scheduled for 17 July 2018. It will also require approval from competition authorities.
