Siemens: to acquire Canada-based Solido.
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens has entered into an agreement to acquire Solido Design Automation, a Canada-based maker of characterization software for semiconductor companies.
Solido's machine learning-based products are currently used in production at over 40 major companies, enabling them to both design, verify and manufacture their products.
Siemens says the acquisition will expand Mentor's analog/mixed-signal verification portfolio to help chipmakers develop automotive, communications, data-center computing, networking, mobile, and IoT applications.
While the terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, Siemens expects to close the transaction in early December 2017.
