Siemens: to supply wind turbines for five US projects.
(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday, Siemens said that the recently merged Siemens Gamesa will supply over 300 wind turbines to sites in the US, with a combined capacity of 784 MW, on the back of five major projects.
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) said the five onshore wind projects will together have the potential to provide clean power to nearly 240,000 US homes.
The nacelles and hubs will be assembled at the SGRE factory in Hutchinson (Kansas) and the majority of the blades for the five projects will be manufactured at the company's facility in Fort Madison (Iowa).
