(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens and Bombardier are in talks to create two joint ventures as part of a potential merger in the railway sector, according to a Bloomberg article which quotes sources close to the file.
The US media reports that both these joint ventures will concern rolling stock on the one hand and signage on the other; the former will be controlled by Bombardier and the latter by Siemens.
According to Bloomberg, an agreement could be reached in the coming months, although a combination would require political support, an authorisation from competition authorities, and could spark opposition from trade unions.
