SAP: to increase dividend by 17%

(CercleFinance.com) - The German business software giant SAP said on Thursday that it is going to propose a 17% increase in its annual dividend for the financial year 2020.

The decision to raise its dividend from 1.58 to 1.85 euro will be submitted to the shareholders' vote at its AGM in May, the Walldorf based group said.

This amount represents a profit distribution ratio of 41%, albeit down from 55% at the end of the previous financial year, it adds.

SAP explains that it wants to associate its shareholders with its "success," after the publication of "solid" annual results for 2020, marked in particular by the generation of record cash flow last year.

All said, the share was trading down around 0.3% on Thursday morning in Frankfurt, just underperforming a pretty flat DAX index.
