SAP: raises dividend after strong growth in 2017

(CercleFinance.com) - German corporate software maker SAP has decided to raise its dividend by 12% after "a very successful year" in 2017, the company said on Wednesday.

The Walldorf-based company plans to recommend shareholders to approve a dividend of 1.40 euro per share for 2017 at the upcoming AGM in May, up from 1.25 euros in 2016.

It said it posted a "strong growth" and "positive cash flow" in 2017.

With the pay-out ratio now standing at 41%, this means that SAP has increased its dividend policy to 40% or more of profit after tax (up from 35% or more previously).
