SAP: to start digital collaboration project for BASF.
(CercleFinance.com) - SAP will start a project to evaluate digital collaboration amongst business partners in the domain of engineering and maintenance at BASF's Ludwigshafen site, the German enterprise software maker said on Tuesday.
The Walldorf-based firm said its cloud-based collaborative network will provide the chemicals maker with a digital data connection to multiple original equipment manufacturers and service providers and their respective asset data.
The project aims to establish a fully-integrated and centrally-managed asset information repository, helping ensure data consistency and availability, the company said.
By establishing such a single source of truth for asset information, BASF plans to improve the efficiency of its engineering and maintenance processes.
