Daimler: EV sales leap
(CercleFinance.com) - Daimler today announced that its sales of xEV vehicles (i.
e. hybrids and all-electrics) from Mercedes-Benz Cars increased by a staggering 142.7% between January and September, compared to the same period a year earlier, with 184,369 vehicles sold.
All vehicles combined, Mercedes-Benz Cars sold 1,617,508 cars in the first nine months of the year, up 3% y-o-y.
However, the carmaker points out that, despite strong global demand, Mercedes-Benz sales were affected by the semiconductor shortage.
Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz Vans division announced that it had sold 243,678 vehicles between January and September, up 9.8%.
Investors don't seem too convinced though, with the share down about 1.5% after lunch today.
