Daimler: US authorities approve a settlement
(CercleFinance.com) - Daimler AG and its subsidiary Mercedes-Benz USA have taken another key step towards resolving several diesel-related procedures.
The US regulatory authorities have approved a claims settlement, thereby almost fully resolving the respective regulatory procedures concerning the emission control systems of approximately 250,000 diesel vehicles in the United States.
Daimler anticipates costs of approximately 1.5 billion dollars (c. 1.27 billion euros) for the settlement with the US authorities.
The estimated cost of the class action settlement is approximately 700 million dollars (c. 591 million euros). Daimler estimates the additional expenses amount to 3 million euros to meet settlement requirements.
