Daimler: Mercedes-Benz first-quarter sales down 5.6%
(CercleFinance.com) - Daimler said that Mercedes-Benz delivered 560,873 vehicles worldwide in the first quarter of 2019, down 5.
6% year-on-year, mainly due to a drop in sales in the US.
In Europe, sales fell 5.6% in the first three months of the year due to the discontinuation of the CLA and the GLE coupés, following a model change.
In the Asia-Pacific region, sales decreased by 3.7%, despite a 2.6% rise in China sales. Sales in the US dropped by 9.9%, the company said.
The smart brand confirmed its difficulties, with a 12% fall in sales over the first three months of the year.
In March, Mercedes-Benz delivered 227,644 vehicles worldwide, down 4.1% compared with the same month last year.
