Daimler: Mercedes-Benz US September sales down 1.7%.
(CercleFinance.com) - Daimler's luxury car brand Mercedes-Benz suffered a slight drop in US sales volumes last month, suggesting a slowdown in demand for premium cars.
Sales of Mercedes-Benz cars fell 1.7% to 29,008 vehicles in September, compared to 29,500 vehicles sold in the same period last year.
The best-selling C-Class series saw sales drop 6.2% to 6,194 vehicles.
“The hurricanes in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico certainly caused some disruption in September," the carmaker said.
On a year-to-date basis, Mercedes-Benz sales totalled 242,250 vehicles, down 2.8% compared to the same period a year ago.
