RWE: sells 49% stake in UK offshore wind farm
(CercleFinance.com) - RWE has signed an agreement with asset manager Greencoat to sell a 49% stake in a UK offshore wind farm for 648 million pounds (about 725 million euros), the German utility said on Monday.
The proceeds from the deal - which is part of the group's "capital rotation" program - will be used to finance further growth in the renewable power market, RWE said.
The Humber Gateway farm - which has an installed capacity of 219 megawatts (MW) - is located off the coast of East Yorkshire in the north east of the UK. It was commissioned in 2015.
The deal is expected to be closed by mid-December 2020.
