Merck KGaA: invests 150 million euros in Swiss biotech plant
(CercleFinance.com) - Germany's Merck today announced an investment of 150 million euros in its Swiss plant of Aubonne, to expand manufacturing capacity for its biotech medicines.
The investment will cover a new building, helping to meet growing demand for drugs such as fertility treatment Gonal-f, the new cancer treatment Bavencio and potential future products that are currently in clinical development phases.
The new building is expected to be complete in 2020, with the new quality control labs operational in 2021, the German drugs and chemicals group said.
