Merck KGaA: strategic collaboration in oncology big data.
(CercleFinance.com) - Merck KGaA will enter into a strategic collaboration with Project Data Sphere to pioneer a global alliance in oncology big data, the German group said on Monday.
Merck said the project will build on the independent, non-profit making organization's digital platform that currently contains historical clinical trial data from almost 100,000 patients provided by multiple organizations.
The alliance will expand the platform to include rare tumor trial, experimental arm and real-world patient data, the company said.
The Darmstadt-based group also said that Heidi Fagerholm, currently chief technology officer of Finnish chemicals maker Kemira, will join the company as head of the advanced Technologies business unit within the performance materials business sector, as from 15 November.
