Infineon: raises dividend after 'strong' end to fiscal year

(CercleFinance.com) - German chipmaker Infineon on Monday raised its dividend after reporting strong quarterly results, helped by the growing use of digitalisation and electrification products.

The Neubiberg-based group said it would pay a 2018 dividend of 0.27 euro per share, 2 cents above the 0.25 euro paid in the previous fiscal year.

In the fourth quarter of the 2018 fiscal year, revenue grew by 12% year-on-year, to over 2 billion euros, while the segment result jumped to 400 million euros, from 328 million euros.

"The fourth quarter was a strong finish to an outstanding fiscal year," said CEO Reinhard Ploss.

Infineon said it aimed to post revenue growth of 11% (plus or minus 2 percentage points) for fiscal year 2019.

The shares were down 4.4% after this report.
