Henkel: opens new automated logistics center in Spain
(CercleFinance.com) - German consumer goods group Henkel has invested 22 million euros to build a new automated logistics center near its plant in Montornes del Valles, Spain, the company said on Tuesday.
The fully automated, 24,000 square meter warehouse will serve as a major logistics hub for its laundry and home care business in Southern Europe, it said.
This move comes in response to increased production, which has surged after introducing new making and filling capacities, in addition to rising demand for exports to other European countries, Henkel added.
The Montornes del Valles plant is one of the largest European Henkel sites with an output of over 200,000 tonnes of powder detergents, liquid detergents, and adhesives per year, with the group exporting to 60 countries.
