Henkel: maintains 2019 targets after in-line results

(CercleFinance.com) - German consumer goods group Henkel reiterated its 2019 guidance on Wednesday, after reporting in-line results for fiscal year 2018.


Sales in the fiscal year 2018 decreased slightly (-0.6%) to 19,899 million euros. Organic growth - which excludes the impact of foreign exchange effects and acquisitions/divestments - reached 2.4%.

Adjusted operating profit (EBIT) improved by 1% to 3.5 billion euros, a new record, the Düsseldorf-based company said.

Henkel said it expects an organic sales growth of between 2% and 4% for 2019, with an adjusted EBIT margin of between 16% and 17%, compared to 17.6% in 2018.

Henkel's shares, which have dropped by almost 20% over the last six months, are currently up 0.8% at 89.2 euros, compared with a 0.1% rise in the DAX index.
