Deutsche Boerse: confirms Refinitiv talks; stock down
(CercleFinance.com) - German exchange operator Deutsche Boerse has confirmed that it is in talks with Refinitiv, a provider of financial markets data and infrastructure, about buying some of its FX business units.
In a short statement published in reaction to "market speculations," Deutsche Boerse said that it is holding "concrete negotiations" concerning the potential purchase of the businesses.
But the company said that the purchase price of 3.5 billion dollars and the imminent signing of binding contracts, as mentioned in market rumors, were "entirely unfounded."
Meanwhile, Deutsche Boerse shares are down slightly this morning, falling 0.2%.
