Deutsche Börse: chooses a new boss, Theodor Weimer.

(CercleFinance.com) - Yesterday evening, Deutsche Börse (DB) announced the appointment of Theodor Weimer as its new CEO.


He will take charge of the German stockmarket operator from 1 January 2018, for a three-year term.

For the time being, Mr. Weimer is the spokesperson for HypoVereinsbank (HVB), a subsidiary of UniCredit based in Munich. He is belongs to the Italian bank's management board.

DB's current CEO, Carsten Kengeter will step down at the end of the year. He has effectively been “knocked out” by the investigation that suspects him of insider trading, Aurel BGC analysts said this morning.
