Fraport: Frankfurt passenger traffic up 10% in first quarter
(CercleFinance.com) - German airport operator Fraport on Friday posted a 10% rise in passenger traffic at its main hub in Frankfurt over the first quarter, citing the early timing of the Easter holidays.
In the first three months of the year, Frankfurt Airport welcomed over 14.4 million passengers - an increase that was also helped by the expansion of flight offerings from airlines, it said.
In March alone, Frankfurt served more than 5.5 million passengers, up 13.2% year-on-year, boosted by the Easter holidays, and popular European tourist destinations, such as Italy, Spain or Portugal, Fraport added in a statement following the release of its monthly statistics.
The Fraport share is currently up 0.7% at 79.9 euros in Frankfurt after the figures were published.
