Fraport: quarterly profit jumps on Frankfurt growth
(CercleFinance.com) - German airport operator Fraport said its earnings strongly rose in the first quarter, helped by all-time high passenger numbers at its Frankfurt airport.
The group's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) in the first three months of the year jumped by 27.2% at 174.7 million euros.
Revenue increased by 15% in the quarter to 681.7 million euros, with traffic in Frankfurt setting a new record with 14.4 million passengers.
The group reiterated its expectations for 2018 earnings.
After these results, Fraport's shares rose 0.9 per cent, outperforming a 0.2 per cent fall in the index of medium-sized companies in Frankfurt (MDAX).
