Fraport: record number of passengers in Frankfurt in 2017
(CercleFinance.com) - Fraport welcomed a record number of passengers at its Frankfurt airport in 2017, as demand strengthened and aircraft movements grew, the German group said on Monday.
Germany's largest aviation hub ended 2017 with 6.1% growth and over 64.5 million passengers, the company said.
European traffic served as the main growth driver, increasing by 7.4%, while intercontinental traffic rose by 4.9%, Fraport said.
Separately, cargo throughput (airfreight + airmail) increased by 3.6% year-on-year to around 2.2 million metric tonnes.
