Deutsche Telekom: raises FY 2022 earnings target

(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday Deutsche Telekom nudged up its annual earnings target following a solid start to the year, during which results exceeded market expectations.

The German group said it now expects "AL Ebitda" - the industry's preferred measure of profitability - to exceed 36.6 billion euros this year, up from 36.5 billion euros previously.

However, the Bonn-based operator is maintaining its forecast of FCF of at least 10 billion euros for the full year.

For Q1, this morning the operator unveiled results that were clearly up and above analysts' expectations.

Its adjusted Ebitda AL increased by 6.8% to more than 11.4 billion euros, while revenues increased 6.2% to 28 billion euros.

The consensus was looking for revenues of 27.9 billion euros and Ebitda AL of 9.55 billion euros.

However, this better-than-expected publication left investors pretty much indifferent on Friday morning, with DT shares up less than 1% in Frankfurt in early trading, underperforming the German market by about 0.5%.
