Deutsche Telekom: Credit Suisse still a buyer

(CercleFinance.com) - Maintaining its buy rating ("outperform") on the Deutsche Telekom stock, Credit Suisse has increased its estimates following the results publication by the German group's US subsidiary, T-Mobile US.

The broker maintains its target price of 17 euros.

The stock has outperformed the European telecoms sector by 17% since the beginning of the year, which Credit Suisse mainly attributes to T-Mobile US. The latter will merge with Sprint, which increases optimism, along with the critical mass that it will achieve.

Conversely, in Germany, the consensus fears the investments required for the deployment of optical fiber. However, the transaction does not seem insurmountable according to Credit Suisse, which believes that the pace chosen by Deutsche Telekom is comparable to what has been done in Norway and the Netherlands: however, in France, Orange's progress has been almost twice as fast.
