Deutsche Telekom: slightly raises guidance on US strength
(CercleFinance.com) - Deutsche Telekom has raised its guidance for the full-year of 2018 after its T-Mobile US unit raised its forecast following a strong first quarter.
The German telecoms giant said it is now expecting adjusted EBITDA to be around 23.3 billion euros this year, compared to a previous guidance of around 23.2 billion euros.
In the first quarter, adjusted EBITDA in organic terms increased by 6.6 per cent, the company said, while the strong euro impacted quarterly revenue, which was down by 3.9 per cent to 17.9 billion euros.
In organic terms, net revenue rose by 3.1 per cent year-on-year
Other key indicators are also trending upward, with net profit up by 32.8 per cent to 1 billion euros.
These figures failed to lift the shares on Germany's DAX index. Indeed, in early-morning trading, the Deutsche Telekom stock was down more than 2%.
