Beiersdorf: margin to stay flat in 2018; shares down
(CercleFinance.com) - Beiersdorf said on Thursday that its EBIT margin from ongoing operations in 2018 will be the same as its level last year, which is below consensus of a slight rise.
The shares have fallen as a result, down 0.5% at 87.9 euros in early morning trading in Frankfurt.
According to preliminary, unaudited figures, Beiersdorf's organic sales growth reached 5.4% in 2018. In nominal terms, sales were up by 2.5%, to 7.23 billion euros.
The consumer business unit generated organic sales growth of 5% in the past year, driven by brands such as Nivea, Eucerin and Aquaphor and La Prairie.
