BMW: US sales up 6.6% in August
(CercleFinance.com) - BMW Group sales in the United States rose 6.
6% in August to 29,416 vehicles, as demand for the German carmaker's sports utility vehicle helped offset a slump in sales of passenger cars.
Sales of BMW-branded vehicles increased 7.2%, with particularly strong demand for the X4 and X5 SUV models. The company also sold 1,741 units of its luxurious brand-new X7.
The biggest seller by volume remains the X3, even though demand was pretty flat at 6,360 cars.
Sales of Mini-branded vehicles rose just 1% to 3,838 units.
Year-to-date, BMW Group's sales are slightly down (-0.3%) at 229,208 units for the first eight months of 2019.
