BMW: global sales up 1.3% in July

(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday BMW reported a 1.
3% increase in global sales in July, growth fuelled by the deployment of new models.

The German premium carmaker announced total sales of 183,487 vehicles of the BMW, MINI and Rolls Royce brands in July, in a market that was judged to be extremely competitive and difficult.

Sales of the BMW brand alone rose by 1.6% to 157,062 units, mainly driven by its dynamic SUV range.

X2 sales increased by 43.6% in July, while X3 sales rose 56.7%.

Sales of the X family, which will be enhanced by the launch of the new X6 by the year end, now represent almost half the brand's sale.
