BMW: regulators approve mobility joint venture with Daimler

(CercleFinance.com) - Antitrust regulators have cleared a joint venture proposed by BMW and Daimler, combining their carsharing, ride-hailing, and mobility businesses.

The German carmakers said that they received the approval from US competition authorities on Tuesday, meaning that all antitrust authorities have given the green light for the equally-owned company.

Now that the approval from competition authorities has been received, the companies aim to close the transaction by the end of January 2019, they said.

Once it closes, BMW and Daimler will present the next steps of the project for cashless on-street parking or public charging stations during the first quarter of 2019.
